Heya everyone,

I'm new here, however I know a little about VoIP's.

I've used VoIP Stunt many months ago, however due to the minute limit, I stopped using it.

2-3 days ago, I decided to check again for something new. I've been looking around to find the best option and I tried different programs. Finally, I found something about VoIPCheap giving out 300 free minutes per month (Or week?) to do landline calls (Dunno if the information is up to date however)

Then, I tried it to call myself and it worked. Waited to see if there was a minute limit and I was impressed to see there wasn't

However, today, I've tried to place a call with it and I didn't manage to. Tried again 2-3 times, nothing. I tried again on myself, however the phone never rang. While placing the call, I could only hear beeps of different lenght, until the line is cut and I receive the message "The other party ended the call".

..........................

Well I've finally been able to call myself while I was writing this after 10-15 failed attempts.

I don't get it Razz

What is wrong please? Why was I unable to call so many times in a row?

Oh and I'd also like to know if the informations about the 300 mins are up to date or if there is any other kind of limitation now.

Thank you very much for your help

(PS: I'm a canadian user in case that may help)

[EDIT: Tried again once I finished writing this and I needed another 3 attempts to call]

Welcome to VoIP User DarkHylian.

Sounds to me like VoIPCheap have some network issues. Like most things unfortunately, you get what you pay for with VoIP.

Did you try contacting their Customer Support?

generally speaking(they may not catch every combination) the 300 min limit for betamax services is accumulative; they add together based on your IP address any accounts you have with the different services(there are at least 25 including voipcheap and voipstunt; pretty much all these 300 min. a month services are the same company). in other words if you used up your voipcheap allowance you can not sign up for another service for an additional 300 min.

have you already made a payment? there are restrictions(different for each service) in what you can do with the 60 free minutes. some services have a 1 minute call limit; others a number of calls per day or week.

spg

p.s. frustrations with these betamax services seems to be the dominate conversation on all the VOIP forums I read. i use them occasionally for testing or cheap calls but do not rely on there VOIP products as a sole provider for reliable calling.

Satphoneguy is right.

You need to pay in order to receive your free calls ! ('Pushing the limits of 'Marketing speak' !)
