Hi,
I've currently got two Cisco IP Phones (a 7940 and a 7960G) and would like to use 3CX and SugarCRM together in a similar way Trixbox does to provide the contacts directory to the phones. As this is a home setup, I've chosen to use the windows based software so that I can install it on my existing windows server and not require a dedicated machine (power consumption etc.)

Is this going to be possible? I've got both 3CX and Sugar installed, and am impressed with both, hopefully the phones will arrive in the next few days and I can get on with this, but I was hoping for some hints / tips to get this going as quickly as possible, I'm not entirely sure how to point the phone at the SugarCRM database?

Any help would be appreciated Smile

Nick

Hi Nick and welcome to Voipuser

You are really 'Trailblazing' here. I am not sure whether you can manage to do what you want without an installed instance of one flavour or Asterisk. In theory you should be able to use the XML feature of the Cisco phone to display a small 'screenfull' of database info. You need a script to produce XML from the Sugar data but if the directory is fairly small you may just find it easier to set up a simple XML listing directory on your server and link it to the phones. Sugar is a bit 'overkill' for that job.

If you are determined then it would be better to ask the question on the Sugar OS Forum as there are system developers there who will have had a go at this.
