Hi Valkyrie,
There are a wide range of reasons why you can't use an Asterisk from outside the local network, depending on how you are trying to use it e.g. a dial in gateway or direct connection.

If we assume you are trying to connect directly using a SIP softphone:
Is the server behind NAT or a firewall?
Check port forwarding and access for Asterisk and the phones UPD ports

Does the phone register on your network?
Check your SIP Nat configuration

Watch what happens when you try and connect using the Asterisk terminal. Level 4 gives a lot of information.

What is your phone?
What have you set in the SIP configuration files?
etc

Hi Gower,

Yes, that's correct, i'm using SIP Softphone and the Server is behind NAT and firewall. I already set the Port Range Forwarding in modem that connect directly to Server for IAX, SIP and RTP, also configure QoS. ( cause i thought it probably the Service ).

For your information, I'm using it by set my Static IP as SIP on Softphone and using ID which i already registered in Server, I can get all event except can not hear the voice and delivered the voice. and the Server Modem type is Linksys Model : AG241.

May i ask you for the list of important config that i must check and set to solve this problem ?

Thanks alot for your help and respond.

Arie.

Hi

Its realy it bit hard to advise whats wrong with no debug and conf files.

But are you saying that the softphone is Natted on one site and * on another ? If it is then you will have the devil of a job getting it to work.
