There is now some good news, for those experiencing VoIP blocking problem. A new software solution called "VoiceGuard"
specifically designed to meet the requirements of users in UAE, Dubai, Middle-East and Asian markets where Voip is blocked.

Developers say the solution is better than VPN-based products because it saves on bandwidth, it monitors voice signaling and media flow intelligently, disguising SIP and RTP packets as normally allowed data packets such as DNS and TFTP and makes its own two-way encryption and decryption.

Voice Guard is fully transparent to upper SIP proxy or UA which means it should work with any 3rd-party Softphone/ATA/Gateway/IPPhone/IADs and SIP server.

I had not heard that voip was blocked in those areas. Is that a money issue in those countries that do not want to lose revenue on legacy services? Interesting....
