Google announce the formation of the Open Handset Alliance. its a group of 34 companies, including chip manufacturers and handset makers.
Google's software will be provided to handset makers FOC and could lead to a price war for operating system licenses and potentially cheaper handsets.
HTC, LG and Samsung have signed up, so intersting times ahead.
