Hello,
I have purchased an account with voipwise.
They don't charge if i use there softphone.
But if a use my Linksys ( Linksys/PAP2-3.1.22(LS) )
They charge me.

Is there a way to change the settings to be recognized like their softphone client.

On voip user i see that they are able to recognize my Linksys.

Is there a way for the Linksys to mimic the settings of the softphone ? ( is there header with the model ) ?
Is there a way to retrieve the settings ( like with ethereal ? ) ?

Hello pasnous and welcome to Voipuser

Short answer - probably not, without a great deal of work and there is really no need to anyway.

Voipwise is just another Betamax/Finarea clone. Their USP seems to be based on the concept that there are some folks who only want to use a soft phone and who are we to argue.

If you want to use any other connection method then use up your credit and swap to almost any other of the Finarea products*, Any of them will allow you to 'Bring Your Own Device' and will provide setup info accordingly. Best source of info is probably the 'Voipbuster' forum at its respective .com location.

If you need a cost comparison between Voipwise, and all their associated products then there is a useful chart here ...

* or almost any other VOISP for that matter

Gray, Thanks for your answer

If found the url you mention :
http://backsla.sh/betamax

But i found that one more easy to use :
http://progx.ch/home-voip-prixbetamax-3-1-1.html

You can select which country you want landlines or mobile. Number of freedays , ...

My girlfriend is from Slovakia and i decide to use voipwise after receiving a bill of 80£ last month mostly for calls in Slovakia. 120 freedays for Slovakia, i discover after that other price apply for sip.
I can teach my girlfriend how to use their soft phone that's not a big deal, but i was also curious.

Maybe i will have a look with wireshark just to see.
