I *think* I have, although I've not tested it for any length of time.
The main thing seems to be to enable GSM - I think you can just do this by clicking on the words at the bottom of the main screen - G711a G711u GSM - need to turn off the G711 ones.
Then I have all the servers as sip.voipbuster.com

Thanks, I have tried it and it works well. I had been using voipbuster.com for the servers which returns an address but does not connect.
Changing this to sip.voipbuster.com allowed x-lite to register and I was able to make calls.

The only problem I encountered is not able to call my VoIPBuster account on my eyeBeam from the VoIPBuster softphone, but the other way around is working without a problem. Could that be because I have both eyeBeam and VoIPBuster running on the same computer? If so, why I don't have a problem calling from eyeBeam to VoIPBuster softphone.

Hi Joe,
Just spotted your post. You say that you can alter settings by clicking on the words at the bottom of the main screen. I've looked at voice buster screen and cannot find anywhere to adjust settings. More help if you can please.

Dave

My setup is running Voipbuster with no problem on G711a and you should only have to reduce the codec if you have a general bandwidth problem (ie it will affect all your VOIP accounts). I think the difference is that I am not using their software which I suspect (being a beta version) has a few bugs still to iron out ! Probably better to use Xlite + I think Firefly works also (someone please confirm this)
My inbound (0845) Voipbuster number has been working intermittantly since I signed up. I just tried it by calling from PSTN and the voice message said 'busy'!
They have blocked any further signups for now, I guess until they get some of these issues sorted out.

Hi Gray,
I'm a complete novice to Voip, but trying to learn as fast as I can. My main bugbare at the moment is Voip Buster. I'm sure there are many Voip progs that are as good or better but I would like to get Voip Buster running if possible. The main problem, not only for me but seemingly many others is that the recipient of the call cannot hear you. Therefore you say in your post that X-Lite works with Voip Buster and you mention no problems on G711a and something about reducing codec, also not using their software.
Could you explain in laymans terms what I need to do to run Voip Buster on X-Lite. I am running Windows XP and have X-Lite and Voip Buster.
Regards,
Dave

Hi Dave
You didn't tell us if you have also managed to make Voipuser work with XLite on your system. That would be more reliable as a test than setting up with Voipbuster which is still in beta + there are lots of resources here to use. Follow the setup instructions at
http://www.voipuser.org/forum_topic_322.html and check that you have the correct ports open as (this is the main cause of one way sound problems). When you get Voipuser working correctly you can then experiment with setting up Voipbuster on Line 2 (Up to six separate accounts if you buy the Xlite pro version)
Its just a case of altering your username, password and the sip server address within the line 2 setup. Once its all working for one provider then all other information, apart from this, stays the same and you can easily add others.
Perhaps someone kind could post their Voipbuster setup page for Xlite

Thanks for the post Gray but I still have a couple of days to go before I can try X-Lite on Voipuser. I'm going on holiday to the USA on 29th so I will try before I go.

Dave

Without wishing to blow our own trumpet Dave, I agree with Gray and I would also go as far as to say that the VoIP User service is probably more suited to you than VoIP Buster.
You have people in the UK wanting to call you, and you want to make free calls to other countries.
That's basically our model.

Dean is quite right and Voipuser are likely to give you a much better level of service, good quality connection and some proper support
BUT just in case anyone is desperate to test Voipbuster with Xlite...
SIP Proxy IP: sip.voipbuster.com
realm/domain : sip.voipbuster.com
Port: 5060
User/CallerID/Authorizing User etc. : your voipbuster user name
Password: your voipbuster password
Apparently right at the moment the incoming Voipbuster service is not working properly - So promote your Voipuser 0844 for your incoming service.

Beeing completely n00b with voip I got myself a two words user name when I registered with voipbuster, ie "firstname lastname"
This works ok with rheir own client application but when setting up x-lite I get "Login failed" messages.
Could the space in the user name be responsible or something else is wrong?

Hi gf and welcome to Voipuser
Probably something else - post your settings (without the password) and we will take a look at them

I'm afraid I was right, I just registered a new voipbuster account with no spacw in the user name and that one works fine with xlite.
I notice in the xlite log that the space in the user name gets trimmed ans that apparently leads to the authorisation failure.

Well done for solving the problem. Shame you cant post it in the Voipbuster forum !
