We have just installed a VoIP system for a client and the audio is choppy at times. Here is the system setup.

8 Grandstream 2000 phones

Dell gigabit switch with isolated vlan for phones

Linksys RV082 firewall with SIP ports triggered and phone port set to high priority.

Internet connection is cable based with 10meg down and 1 meg up.

Please let me know if there is something you see that should be changed or if there is a better way to do this.

Ok.

Firstly when is it choppy ?

Is the cable connection shared ?

Is this a Hosted PBX solution ?

and finaly

why have you spent good money on the network and then skimped on the handsets.
