This French man took Acer to Court to get 311 Euros compensation (which the Court duly awarded him) as he wanted to buy an Acer laptop, but didn't want the Microsoft O/S and applications that came with it:-

I can't help but think such a ruling effectively states that hardware manufacturers and software creators are unable to do "deals". It's not the Courts place to get in the middle of commercial dealings between companies. You don't have to buy Acer. Seems a rather dumb decision to me?
