VoIP phone specialists snom have launched a competition to promote the XML Minibrowser that is in their most recent handsets. They are inviting users to submit useful applications that can run on the snom handsets. The embedded browser can control the display of the phone and collect input, and can also interact with external web servers as part of an app. Snom have a Wiki here describing the embedded XML support.

Contestants must publish their apps with a BSD licence, and the prize is an invitation to Fall VON Boston or SIMO in Madrid.
