Nope, running fine... could be an ISP issue at your end? |

What does "ISP issue" mean? Does it mean, that the problem is caused by my ISP and thus there just is nothing I can do?
I am using the router Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7050 to get access to the internet. I do know about the trouble caused by NAT. Therefore I configured the Fritz!Box so, that my PC is an exposed hosts to all ports. The Fritz!Box even gives a warning:
Attention: The firewall is deactivated. Your PC is unprotected in the internet visible and reachable.
So it seems to me, this is the maximum I can do?!
Any further ideas?
I am using Windows 2000. So there should be no integrated firewall like in Windows XP. Also I deactivated the Fritz!Box-Protect Program. Still all does not help!
I am looking forward for any suggestions.
Thanx |

Sorry, I forgot a thing: I should mention, what error messages I get from the port_forward_tester:
First message:
"Failed to connect to TCP server at VoIP User"
Second message:
"Connection Closed Gracefully."
Hope this helps! |

It sounds like something is blocking port 8984.
Win 2K does have a firewall I believe?

Is there a way to test, if something is indeed blocking port 8984?
I did some research on firewalls in Win 2K but didn't find anything. There is IPSec, but I don't use ist. |

We upgraded RAM which meant the server got rebooted, and I, er, forgot to restart it
Sorry...
It's back now. Thanks for the heads up.

Oops - sorry Paul, we'd somehow managed to firewall the port that it runs on
Should be OK now.

So what should we try if the ports fail, I'm pretty sure I opened them on my router, but i'll check again. |

If the port forward tester is definitely connecting to the server (check the log), then something's failed with your port forwarding.
The test can't help you fix that issue, only diagnose it. The best place to start is probably with your routers manual. |
