Dean started VoIP User together with Tjardick back in June 2003 as a means of experimenting with and writing about VoIP and with the crazy idea that a community self-funding telco network, with a view to shaping and assisting the development of the VoIP space, might actually work ;-)

Dean prefers to remain at the creative edge of the VoIP spectrum designing and implementing custom technologies and unique individual network systems with a healthy disregard of the impossible.

He is a named inventor on several VoIP patents.
